As as author and booklover, it pains me to see Barnes & Noble fall to the same fate as Borders(RIP). As much as I love the young and sexy Amazon.com, the world needs a brick and mortar shelter from the storm of ignorance.
It may be deja vu for Barnes & Noble to compete against online booksellers but there is another way. BN needs to re-invent the bookstore into a destination for the community to meet and discuss ideas in person; an online store can't compete with human interaction.
I wanted to Save Borders too and Barnes & Noble would benefit from the same strategy.

ps A clever guy named Shaun came up with a vision for an augmented reality BN app. It's another thing which needs to happen!
pps What if Barnes & Noble was a megachurch where you tithe for intellectual stimulation?
